México genera al día 120 mil toneladas de residuos sólidos, es decir, aproximadamente 1 kilogramo diario por cada mexicano, según datos de la Semarnat.
De lo anterior, tan solo el 46 por ciento de estos residuos corresponden a orgánicos, el 22 por ciento son inorgánicos (no reciclables), y el 32 por ciento residuos que pueden ser reciclados, como envases y empaques de productos de consumo.
Ante tal situación se han tratado de generar proyectos e ideas que ayuden a fomentar el reciclaje, puesto ello beneficia al medioambiente, ya que se generar grandes ahorros de los recursos naturales finitos, energía y emisiones de CO2.
La tasa de reciclaje durante el último año ha alcanzado el 29.7 por ciento, y gran parte del avance –según datos registrados por Ecología y Compromiso Empresarial (Ecoce) – se debe al programa Acopio Móvil, el cual, en tan sólo los últimos años ha recolectado más de 600 kilogramos de materiales, que al ser reciclados ahorran un equivalente a 383 pipas de agua.
Pero… ¿Qué es Acopio Móvil?
Se trata de un programa que mediante el cual se canjean envases y paquetes posconsumo por productos de despensa como lo es: arroz, aceite comestible, azúcar, tortillas de harina, atún, mayonesa, papel higiénico, avena, frijoles refritos, refrescos, galletas, sal, agua purificada, sopas de pasta, jugos y consomé de pollo.
Acopio Móvil, visita diferentes espacios públicos en donde recibe los residuos de envases y empaques separados por tipo de material, y de acuerdo a su peso (en kilos), los beneficiarios pueden cambiarlos por ciertos productos de despensa.
