El pasado jueves por la tarde se inició el retiro de palmeras muertas a causa de una plaga en Polanco. Su retiro comenzó el jueves 4 de agosto, luego de que habitantes de Polanco mencionaron sentirse en riesgo por la caída de varias palmeras muertas en la avenida Moliere.
Estos trabajos fueron realizados por la alcaldía Miguel Hidalgo y la Secretaría del Medio Ambiente. El personal de la alcaldía retiró ramas y hojas muertas del mal estado de las palmeras, mientras trabajadores de la Secretaría del Medio Ambiente cortaba los ejemplares de 15 metros de altura.
Debido a la complejidad del retiro de los ejemplares por sus malas condiciones, se espera que el trabajo esté terminado dentro de 20 días, informó el personal de la alcaldía Miguel Hidalgo.
